Acid Souljah comes through in rare form on Thank You Acid Souljah 2, a standout album from the artist's already prolific 2021 output. TYAS 2 shows Acid Souljah effortlessly demonstrating his signature Based God influenced style with in-your-face and out-of-pocket bars about counting up bands, trapping and flexing on everyone. Assisted on the album by a slew of familiar collaborators, namely fellow SoEvilBoyz collective members Xhris2Eazy, Xaviersobased and Kenopro79, the latter of whom hosted the album on top of mixing and mastering every track. Production is handled by a wide array of talent including Dani Kiyoko, Seepy, Mr. Cheezl and BasedPlugg among many more. Acid Souljah hits the listener in the face across TYAS 2 as he tosses lines such as “Bitch suck my dick so hard that she died” on busy production accentuated by Kenopro79’s methodical mixing. Tracks balance a multitude of sonic choices such as sampled DJ tags scattered around and a myriad of vocal and production effects resulting in what feels like the audio version of ADHD. Acid Souljah reminds the listener that Based music is far from dead or uninspired on TYAS 2, crafting an album that sounds like a solidified realisation of what it means to be deep in the internet.
